Fifteen Santa Styled hashers, including two ankle biters and the Heroic Hare, Wonky Willy, participated in this beautiful Hash at Quinze Sols close to the banks of the Garonne in northern Blagnac.
Again, the weather was perfect for an afternoon in the countryside and after a precise demonstration of the hash symbols, we set out in search of meticulous markings eager to get to the promised beer stop en route. The walk and run were through woodland by the river and the sun was low in the sky so it was sometimes challenging to spot the marks in the dappled sunlight. After a while we spotted the BS indicator for the beer stop but, in my case, I didn’t find any beer. Apparently, I was not sufficiently diligent as most others found it over the hill by the trail! Must try harder next time.
During the Après Hash we enjoyed Six Pack’s mince pies, Rocket Lip’s fruit cake and mulled wine made to Ticket to Ride’s recommended recipe. It all went down very well in the cooling air as the sun dropped in the sky.
Cheesy Lollipop happily conducted the Festive Hash Circle and we;
- Judged the Hare’s trails. We joked about the elusive beer stop, the confusing mélange of Short outbound trail mixed with the Long return path; then unanimously and fairly judged it to have been a great first trail effort from a Virgin Hare, Wonky Willy.
- It’s Complicated and Honey Pot showed off their latest Away Hash T shirts; designed by Honey Pot for their trip to the Horney Hash in Germany. Very elegant it was.
- We voted for the preferred day of the Burns hash in January and unanimously voted for a SATURDAY 25th January. Short Shirt has confirmed it will be starting at the usual time of 3pm from Short Shift & Hairy Shoes’ house in Fontenilles, so please put it in your diary, and let him know if you are coming/bringing a contribution to this unique event in our calendar.
- We would have welcomed, Just Luke, a Virgin hasher but he had to leave early due to family duties. We hope to see him on the Hash again soon.
