#280 – Rocket Pants & Rocket Lips, Tournefeuille

Eighteen hashers including 2 hares, 2 returners, 3 virgins and an out of tune horn descended on Tournefeuille on (luckily) the only dry and windless day of the week for a picturesque trail around the parks and recreational areas of this beautiful part of the Grand Toulouse Metropole.

Early Swinging Down Under-style blobbing resulted in the walkers getting lost pretty much at the first check but were soon quickly back on track to follow the checks correctly marked out by the runners ahead of us, and the quantity of flow in the blobs increased

Passing lakes, roads, ponds and even a live rugby match guided by the occasional blow of the horn by (potential future Hash Horn) Just Mathieu, the hashers made their way to the L/S split, which also became a last-minute beer stop. Needless to say, only 2 of the approx. 7 runners finished the full 10km runner trail whilst the rest considered it more a beer terminus rather than beer stop

The crew enjoyed the fantastically prepared provisions, including posh 0% beers provided by Cheesy Lollipop (“what??” I hear you say. 0% beer at our hash??? – hey at least it wasn’t Heineken). Once Gypsy Magnet and Just Mathieu finished whatever they were both doing in the local public toilet, the circle formed compered by Cheesy Lollipop.

The hares were rewarded for their excellent trails, as usual, and they both embraced each other linking arms to take their down-downs.

Next came the returners – ET & Gypsy Magnet who were punished for their absence and rewarded for their return. ET had been touring the globe and Gypsey Magnet had been touring Lyon.

The return of Gypsy Magnet she brought us a new Virgin who introduced himself as Just Mathieu, a Lyon native who “works” (questionable) for SNCF and recently moved to Toulouse.

Next up was Just Catherine, a colleague of Just Sarah at the Cambridge language school in Blagnac and last, but by no means least, Just Louis, also a colleague of Just Sarah and one of only 2 runners who completed the full 10km run trail.

The Virgins were given the traditional welcome to the Toulouse H3 and we hope they will return for the trails to come over the course of 2025

The RA was rewarded for his remarkable job to not only organize the perfect weather for this single day of the week but also keep the good weather for the duration of the trail and extended circle – indeed on the drive home the heavens opened so we were truly blessed that It’s Complicated and the man upstairs coordinated this day so well

Finally, Honey Pot & Lap Dancer were thanked/rewarded for their excellent work to get the new website (Toulouse Hash House Harriers), we reviewed the Hare Line and closed out with the traditional hash hymn before all departing our separate ways into the thunderous of thunderstorms
