Three virgins, 3 returners, 7 regulars and 2\u00bd hares gathered at the familiar F\u00f4ret de Bouconne on a scorching hot afternoon on a Sunday in May to dust off an old favourite trail under the protective shade of the trees. As expected, It\u2019s Complicated set up a well-stocked beer stop, which was much appreciated after, what seemed to be much longer trail than when it was laid earlier in the day \u2013 but then again there is a reason for that\u2026.more later<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some unusual markings were put in place, inspiration taken from recent international hashes participated by It\u2019s Complicated including the dreaded fish hook \u2013 a marking obliging the runners to run in the opposite direction of the route until he\/she meets the final walker and then can return back on their way. Despite there being 5 runners on the trail, only one took it seriously, Cheesy Lollipop, and he was applauded by the group as he took the marking seriously \u2013 see video in the Google album (link below)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another interesting marking, although mistaken for a WIFI signal sign, was the \u201cviewpoint\u201d marking where the hashers were to stop at a small pond and try to identify at least 3 of the 8 or so creepy animals that live in this area. Whilst interesting to learn about the animals that live in this place, most took the idea as a bit of fun, both ET & Just Petros took it seriously, risking their lives to achieve the mission despite repeated reminders that we don\u2019t have the anti-venom. Once ET & JP had decided to call it a day, the group returned to the On In and the usual festivities began in the car park<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The circle was co-compered by Glory Hole & Cheesy Lollipop and a runner and a walker were brought into the circle to give their option of the trail and share the down-downs with the 2\u00bd hares. Next up were the virgins, Just Samy, Just Pierre and Just Petros \u2013 who took their rewards with pleasure and promised us that they would return. Next up were the returners, rebranded as those with more than 2 runs but no hash name yet \u2013 Just Lisa, Just Leslie & Just Silverio. I know what you\u2019re thinking, how has Just Leslie done more than 2 hashes when she only hashed for the first time, with us, last month. Well, she loved hashing so much that on a recent trip to Sweden, she joined a trail with the Stockholm H3 \u2013 so already gone international after only the 1st<\/sup> attempt, bravo!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoppy Pussy was both rewarded and punished at the same time for his participation at the Venice Kilt Run in April, with the punishment being for not attending the TH3 debrief at April\u2019s hash. However, he didn\u2019t drink alone as he was accompanied by Cheesy Lollipop, It\u2019s Complicated and Glory Hole who participated in the Rabat 2000 in early May. Hoppy Pussy then remained in the circle for 2 further times, once for theft, using ET\u2019s beaker to do his down-downs, but for the other I can\u2019t remember.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The usual hash gear punishment took place with newly crowned Crapper Napper taking it like a lady despite protesting about lack of opportunity to acquire hash gear. Hoppy Pussy narrowly escaped punishment by dangling a hash feet cladded water canteen from his belt. However, a reminder went out again towards the absent TMI, via Cheesy Lollipop that the hash T-shirts should be in circulation in time for the international hashes in August<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this usual subject hanging in the balance, we got into position for Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, and bid our farewells to our comrades hoping to see them at the next one<\/p>\n\n\n\n
