Here to dash your dreams of completing Dry January is the official invite to the legendary annual Burns Hash, taking place at the home of our hares, Short Shift and Hairy Shoes, on Saturday, 25 January.
The hash will, as usual, begin at 3pm (please aim to arrive 15 minutes early) and will be followed by the traditional Burns supper, with the hares providing the main course and nibbles. Any additional contributions of starters or desserts would be gratefully received.
As this hash is held in celebration of the birthday of the great Scottish poet Robert Burns, born 20th January 1759, it’s only right that we should sing a round of one of his most famous works, “Auld Lang Syne”. We’ve included the words to the song at the end of this email, so that everyone can sing along!
Furthermore, to ensure an appropriately Scottish atmosphere, tartan attire is strongly encouraged. Punishment for nonconformity will be dealt at the discretion of the GM holding the circle.
What to Bring:
– 5€ hash cash
– A drinking beaker
– Water
– A dish to share, if desired
Hope to see you all there!
